Rose & Dragonfly Urns

From the Arts and Crafts movement of the late 1880′s and early 1900′s, this piece is a classic. The Craftsman Rose and Dragonfly incorporates the geometric expression found in the American Craftsman, Mission, Bungalow and Prairie Styles of architecture. The glazes on these pieces gently reveal contrasting undertones on the raised areas, creating depth of the design. The rose, the classic symbol of love and beauty is the predominant feature, which is joined by the wings of 3 dragonflies. To many Native Americans, the dragonfly represents purity, and in many cultures the presence of a dragonfly represents spirit or a guide for the departed’s soul.
